Influencing & Negotiation Skills
Line managers, team leaders, senior managers.
Wherever you are in your career the influence you have on others, to enable better performance and effective processes, is a powerful tool. This course is designed for anyone in a position of leadership or management who wants to better utilise that influence.
The purpose of this influencing skills workshop is to focus on understanding, developing and adapting influencing styles to best suit individual situations.
Looking at your behaviours and innate influencing style, how to adapt this to different situations and to those around you, you will look at how to approach situations where people have different styles and different levels of commitment to your own, and how you can influence their behaviours.
The skills and models discussed in this workshop will help you with managing your workload and performance, developing your team, influencing people other than your own team and influencing people more senior than you.
Having attended this workshop learners will be able to:
- State the fundamental principles of influencing other people individually or in groups
- Identify your preferred influencing style and the impact this has on others
- Identify effective behaviours and skills needed to influence
- Describe and demonstrate your influencing skills via group exercise
A one day workshop which covers a wealth of knowledge to better enable leaders and managers to perform their role successfully.
Using a combination of group work, one to one discussions and sharing personal experiences to which this learning could be applied, the knowledge is embedded with activities and practical exercises, and the day ends with a plan for actioning this new learning in the workplace beyond the workshop.
